Red Cabbage and Apples from PoohBear79
We had a War of 1812 event at the
historic site where I work . For the event, we had people in period clothes out
in the original 18th century open hearth kitchen, cooking a meal for 30 people
on the fire. One of the
side dishes was AMAZING, and amazingly easy, and I wanted to share it with you
all. It's perfect for fall. I do not have exact measurements, as they did not
use them.
When onions are clear and apples
begin to get soft, add the cabbage and cook until the cabbage done!

Slice
Knockwurst lengthwise and grill until it is scored then add to cabbage mixture. |
