Apple and Pear
Sauce

2 granny smith apples
2 bartlett pears
1 cup apple juice
1 cinnamon stick
2 tablespoons real vanilla extract
½ teaspoon grated nutmeg
1 tablespoon honey
Core, peel, and cut into chunks apples and pears. Place in 2 qt sauce pan.
Add apple juice, cinnamon, vanilla, and nutmeg.
Cover, simmer for a few minutes until chunks are fork tender. (check often)
Remove cinnamon stick
Mash part of the mixture with a fork, leaving some chunks.
Add honey to taste.
Serve this with grilled knockwurst (knockwurst and saurkraut in my case) or pork
chops and baked beans.
